Google Braille Logo: Jonathan Munk

If you’re a Googler, then you’ve probably already seen this Braille Logo that Google put up today commemorating the birthday of Louis Braille, inventor of the visually impaired reading system.

This logo is probably the biggest chance the search engine giant has taken with one of its logos, since the logo is completely illegible, even to a blind person (how can you braille-read an image on a computer screen??). Not many companies have the luxury of changing their logo whenever they please, have millions of people exposed to it, and then change it back again the next day. Of course, normally when Google shakes up their logo, they keep their font and colors so it’s easy to decipher, but in this case only the colors and 3D shading are the same.

You can even click on the logo to learn all about Louis Braille, born 197 years ago today.

New Intel Logo Annouced: Jonathan Munk

Intel announced today a new rebranding effort which includes a new tagline and logo design, a somewhat surprising move given the brand’s current recognition and influence. The new company logo may look like the image below, in all lower case letters and without the dropped ‘e’ of the old logo.

The company has also declared an end of the popular “Intel Inside” moniker for a new tagline–”Leap Ahead.” An Intel spokesperson said he hopes the new branding effort better captures the company’s expansion into markets outside of PCs, most notably digital home, mobile and health industries, according to Bloomberg.com.

Luckily Intel made the new logo familiar and friendly-looking, so alienating customers will probably not be much of an issue.
