Logoworks acquired by Hewlett-Packard!
Just a quick note, we would like to congratulate our friends at Logoworks on their new merger with Fortune 14 company Hewlett-Packard. The details as we understand them are still largely unknown. As you may or may not know, some of our expert panel of designers work for Logoworks and are kind enough to provide feedback here in their spare time…which doesn’t look like they will have much of in the near future!

This looks to be an amazing relationship, bringing the much needed and excellent graphic design of Logoworks to now hundreds of thousands of small businesses in the hp network. Congratulations to those boys and girls, and we look forward to to huge things from them in the future.

Great news… I think many big companies are going to approach other major players like logodesignguru.com and logobee.com in industry

Great work for logoworks.com. I myself used logo-mojo.com for my own logo project, their service and quality of work was fantastic.
Check out my logo in their most recent logo samples.

Congrats, Logoworks! I am confident that the association between a logo design company and a well-known brand will lead to long-term benefits for both parties.

Maybe I don’t get it. First I saw the posting about logoworks being acquired by HP but I didn’t think much of it. Being a freelance designer I have always frowned upon the ‘big brother’ approach to logo design by companies like logoworks and other similar outfits. Now they got gobled up by HP, the only outcome that I see in that is further commoditisation of logo design and further erosion to creativity.

I agree with Vulkan, this is a very good deal for them, I am not sure how it will impact the rest of us though.

Well, you all seemed excited about this merger. This is one customer (my design project is now on its 6 and 7th revision) who wished she had picked ANOTHER COMPANY!.
Firstly, I CAN’T GET A REFUND. I purchased the basic logo package for 300.00 and they have YET to get my logo right. The designs were piss-poor. And, after I made my second phone call complaint (today), I got 2 more free revisions. I was initially told I needed to pay an additional 50.00.
It would be too much for me to go into detail about how badly they are screwing this up..but when I asked for utensils (fork, knife and spoon) and a napkin, what I got was a red triangle with what appeared to be “stone-age” utensils on top in a row.. you know the kind - a computer drew them - sharp edges, no life, no detail.
I can’t talk to the designers according to HP. But I honestly told them that the truth is they can’t create a logo for me at the basic price. If I want a logo, Heather from HP told me, I need to go with the higher priced “Illustrative” package or pay 50.00 every time I want an additional revision EVEN THOUGH they hever gave me what I wanted. A RED TRIANGLE AS A NAPKIN?? Seriously, you remember the wood blocks we played with as kids? Well, take a red triangle block.. and you have “my napkin”..
I guess my screaming got me additional free revisions. I did ask for my money back but alas.. no refunds.. my bad..
Bottom line is.. I’m stuck..I know I’m going to lose my money because I just don’t believe they can create a logo for me at the price I paid.
For sure, I will never select the logo they give me as “accepted and final”.. they can forget it.

Great news… Congrats Hewlett-Packard and LogoWorks!!
I hope that Hewlett-Packard is able to keep the great spirit of works’s designers and managers. I think graphic design is a great area for HP to go into.
