Logo Design Podcast 11: Sinners!
This week, Paul takes us on a harrowing journey into 2 of the cardinal sins of logo design…1. Too much clutter. 2. Illegibility. The quickest way to lose a customer’s attention, is have a logo that is difficult to read/understand. Sometimes, as designers, it is up to us to educate our clients and help them understand that in a logo, less is more. What tells people of their services is their marketing efforts, and the logo is there to back them up with the professional look.
How many no-no’s can you find in this logo below? If you don’t find any…please see Logodesign.com podcast 1-10 as well.

Once again, we LOVE your feedback, we LOVE your input, we LOVE your comments good or not as uplifting. Send any questions to us here, and feel free to post your thoughts for others to partake below. Thanks for listening, hope we helped in some way!

Another thing to point out about the colors in the Johnson Drugstore logo is awareness for those who are colorblind (about 1 in 12 people).
The brightness of the red is close enough to the brightness of the green, that when dropped to greyscale they are nearly indistinguishable. Yet another great reason to start all logo designs in black & white.

Logos design should be in black and white . I really do them mostly in that manner.

I cheated, googled “country inn restaurant golf course” and found your client. Top hit. I had to click on the home page button to get to anything that resembled the final design to find that it only features the light post. funny.
