One of the very few who put the emphasis in their first name, presumably to
give some friendly familiarity. This one almost goes overboard, with his use
of a nickname. The first impression is awkward and amateur. It doesn’t fit
together well, and the eye is drawn to to many awkward edges and shapes. But
the most problematic and ridiculous is the TM. Did he really get his name
trademarked? Were there other presidential hopefuls infringing on that name?
So, the message is “HEY, I’m Tommy! Let’s be buds! (Just be careful how you
use my name because I will sue.)”
The T makes it unbalanced and
uncomfortable to look at. If you’re going to make it unbalanced, one should
at least make it lean to the right side, the eye can naturally fall off
where it usually does. The negative space it creates makes one wonder
subliminally if he really has the leadership strength to lead one of the most
powerful nations on earth.
