Fort Collins Logo Creating a Stir

Maybe you have seen or heard of this by now, but Fort Collins residents are upset with the new logo design proposal. The proposed logo was designed by North Star, based out of Tennessee. (Residents are also upset the city used an outside firm instead of a local firm, but that is another issue) “It’s too simple, it doesn’t say enough about our town,” said a former city planner.

There are also complaints that the logo is too similar to the city of Greeley, which was also designed by North Star. I don’t really see the connection between the two logos. Yes, there are some similarities such as a modern look and feel, but I don’t see anything beyond that. I do agree that the new logo is a bit on the simple side, but the old logo needs to updated.

Congrats to Southern Illinois Logo

A few weeks ago we mentioned that the minor league logo contest put on by Darren Rovell of CNBC. Well, the results are finally in and we have a winner. The winner, the Southern Illinois Miners logo. “Big John,” the miner in the logo, is described as tough, but not scary and intimidating.

The Miners logo was created by the Arthur Agency in Carbondale, Illinios. The Arthur Agency is proud to be the creator of “Big John.” Congratulations to the Southern Illinois Miners and the Arthur Agency.
