Wow. Quite a bit going on in this design/illustration. Notice I didn’t say logo. I think in there somewhere is a logo. Let’s look at the type and we will assume that this is the logo. The first question that comes to mind is, “If the background were gone would just the type hold together.?” I think it would. I like the overlap of the word bike with the border of BIG ROCK. As for the whole busy piece, I would consider ways to simplify. The chopper is rendered well but the detail far exceeds that of the type. The style of the bike could be simplified which would make it fit better with the type. I am sure this was produced for an event and for t-shirts to be made and for those purposes this artwork will probably be successful. The integration of the guitar is a nice touch.
Great t-shirt/poster design. I wouldnt call it a logo either. I love the colors, the details, and the text is very readable. The hierarchy of text is great. Everything blends well. Your screenprinter is going to hate you, but I salute your illustration and design skills.
Overall design works, even if you break apart the elements you still have a good design. The “Big Rock Bike Fest” type is unique enough to stand alone as a logotype. The only issue with this design is that it is mainly a “raster” image and will only reproduce well in off-set print.
