Agree with most of the comments here, although don't see why you have to keep the logo in a box. Have you thought about maybe having the head coming out of your name, as that would link the two quite well. Another idea would be to use a more organic or freehand font and maybe incorporate the head in the O or something? It depends a bit if you are a more conceptial designer or do more web stuff, and most importantly how you want to be perceived. Just some ideas, I do like it though with the few tweaks previously mentioned, good stuff!

I agree with the others on dropping the 'web and graphic design' text. Also I am not a huge fan of boxed in logos. I might try to get rid of the box so it is just the upside down head and your name. That may create a simpler, cleaner, more refined look. Just my 2 cents :-)

The head logo is okay except i'm not too clear on the concept. There is really no reason why all the information should have to be inside the square. "Web & Graphic Design" is a description of what your company does and as such should not really be part of the logo or mark. Maybe just keep the head inside the square (if you must have a square) and put "LeaVerou" on the right side of it in the same font as you have it and place "web & Graphic Design" underneath everything. One more suggestion: think about maybe using negative space for the head logo. in other words, kind of like you have on your card except the red square would just be around the head (no words). the head and neck color would actually be the color of the paper and the twirl in red. It would probably look a bit cleaner. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for all the comments!
Btw my corporate identity uses this logo in a black background with white in the place of black and it looks much better this way (I sent both versions and they put up this one)...This is my bussiness card for instance: http://www.leaverou.gr/mycard_black.png
You are right about the "web&graphic design" part, I am trying to solve this problem for a while now without totally changing concept. Perhaps I should throw it away... If I adjust the kerning more between r and o they will "stick" and that's won't look too nice...
Do you have any idea about removing the "web & graphic design" part without having trapped space on the right of the head and by keeping the box?
I've experimented already a long time ago with what Paul suggests and I didn't like the outcome...
Thanks in advance!!

Good start. "Web & Graphic design"- out. No reason to have it there. People that see your log on stationery and websites will know you're in design, your logo should not have to say it. I like the head and I like the upside down, and I like the colors. make it a rectangle and put "LeaVerou" over to the right, and you're on the right track.

I like your name, but leave out the web & graphic design part. Maybe just LeaVerou Design, or LeaVerou Creative. I think when you say web & graphic design it cheapens the service you provide. It's like McDonald's calling it's self McDonald's Hamburgers and Fries, or UPS becoming UPS Guys That Deliver Boxes. I like the idea of incorporating an icon that represents the cerebral side of design. I'm not sure if this is the best way to represent that idea. The twirl looks like a hundred other twirls I've seen and the head spooks me out. It looks like a head on a stick. Play around with the idea a little more. It can be good with the right exicution. Remember to create something exclusive and more memorable.

I think you have a good start to a logo. I just have a few thoughts on how you can improve it. I would drop the "web & graphic design". It doesn't really add anything to the logo and when it prints small you wont be able to read it. I also think you should explore the layout of the logo outside of the box. The icon and your company name could have more of an impact without the box. For a good site that you can get some inspiration from, visit logo pond

Fun concept, I think the font and illustration go together fairly well. The immediate problem I see, is that when this logo is produced any smaller than this, you will not be able to read the web & graphic words. I would suggest bringing web&graphic design, out of the square and adjusting the items inside the square accordingly. I also would check your spacing on your name, the r and o are too far apart. Nice start.
