I like the angles and color in this design. The martini glass is cool, but I am not sure it is the best image to represent weddings. Maybe try to incorporate some wedding bells, maybe the actual bell could serve as the olive as well? Just a thought…

The text could be hard to read for some. I would also make the word Events hold up in weight with the letters “in”. When reduced in size you may loose legibility for the wording at the bottom. Extend the wording and enlarge the length of the line. I think with the line art below you will still get the sense of balance.

  2. Panel Expert - Tony Naccarato Says:

For not being a designer, this is a pretty good start. After trying some of the suggestions from Allison, I would also try creating it without the background and without the bevel effect. I would also explore some more color options. The gray color does not really say “wedding planner”. I like the martini glass because it relates to both wedding planner and event planner, but the problem is that everything is the same size. The “Cin Cin” is the same size as the glass. It takes the excitement out of the logo. Try picking either the name or glass and make one more prominent.

I like the beginnings of this. However the hard lines in the martini lines don’t flow very well with the curves of the emblem below your text. You may also want to look into shrinking the size of your martini or Cin Cin text. You may also want to think about losing the martini glass altogether. It’s a nice design, but a logo with an alcoholic beverage as it’s focus may turn some potential clients off a bit.

At first glance, the problem I have is the image your logo is portraying. The top section is very fun and active, and the bottom of the logo is more exclusive and reserved. You need to decide what market you want to go after. If you are trying to market to both, then I would calm down the upper section of the logo. Designing on the safe side is better than not. You have a nice clean look from the line down, I would recommend designing the top to match it a bit more closely. The tilted glass, the large C’s and the bevel all make the upper section compete with the bottom. Lose the bevel, the grey border, reduce the size of the ornament on the bottom, give the entire logo more space in between elements, and re-think your upper section style and layout.

Lose the line and everything beneath it. Thicken events and you’re done in my opinion.

And use the same font for events. there’s no reason for that to be different font.

I see where you were heading with this and it’s clean or I should say it was at one point. It is important to know when to stop and realize when a design is finished. It just seems to busy, your main text is riding your line way to closely. It gives the viewer a sense that you have run out of room and your just sqeezing elements in. I love the Martini Glass, but your design element at the bottom takes away from it’s glory. I would remove everything except the Main text element the Martini Glass and the sub-text. Move the Martini glass out a bit so that it looks like a seperate enity. And drop your sub-text down a bit. Good work it just seems as though you tried to do to much with it, which is a no,no. (-:

I agree with most of the others. You have a good start here, but to me, there is just too much going on. Try to simplify the overall look to 1 simple element that really defines your company (I doubt that that’s the martini). Keep working and refining and you will create a good logo!
