Wow! Good job! It’s attention-getting and readable, and it makes the viewer want to explore the logo, so you’re already most of the way there to a SWEET logo!

I love the free and loose style of the art. I love the colors. Nice balance and readability.

The text doesnt match the art. Try another font. “RECORDS” could be bigger. And what is that black thing? A camera? A spotlight?

  2. Hunter Says:

I think that black thing is her foot.

You said that this is for Gangster Rap hip hop. The dancing girl resembles more of a reggae light hearted type of record label rather than gangster.

  3. NativeSun Says:

I like the colors, and the balance…

but, I question the dancer. “Gangstas don’t dance”

Maybe a microphone, would be more suitable.

  4. Danny Says:

I like where you’re going with that subtle microphone, maybe you should run with that idea.

Yes, I agree about the dancer not working. Also the forearm that is extended way out needs to be smoothed out. If that is the style you want, then integrate it to the other arm.

It’s a really nice logo, but might not achieve the companies objectives.

I thought the dotted ball in the background was a golf ball. I think its a great logo but not for a gangsta rap company. Maybe try something less neat and clean and perpendicular. Hip hop is a very loose and free art and most of all edgy. It’s not about appealing to the status quo. Try being inspired by some stencil graffiti … or maybe “bling”, the black background of Kingpin could be a necklace.

  6. Justin Says:

… also, try looking at some gangsta tattoo art

I hate this logo. it has nothing of the image of rap, looks too poppy and girly, and will certainly not appeal to anyone that likes rap. Get rid of it!
