I think this is a pretty good logo and the comments I have are little things so take them for what they are. First, it might be nice to see the leave have more of a curve as it curls over. Right now it looks like it is folded over. I also think the leaf is a little big and it throws the logo off balance. Second, since it is such a complex logo, I wonder if it would look good without the water at the bottom.
Again, I think this is a good logo so whether you try my suggestions or not, your good to go.

First of all, define “logo” for me, because this seems more like an advertisement - or feature graphic - than a logo (especially when you say it’s for the company titled “Drip and Mist Irrigation”).

As a logo: it’s too busy. There are too many elements to make this a good logo (the leaf, water drop, ripples, and text). If you want to use this as a logo, I strongly suggest getting rid of the ripples under the text, and finding a way to simplify the leaf and water drop.

I also agree with what Tony said about the leaf looking folded over, it doesn’t look very smooth or fluid - as leaves and water typically are.

Thank you very much for your comments. The clients I did this for loved it. The name of the company is Mister Landscaper. They sell Drip and Mist irrigation products that conserve a lot of water, and are good in drought restricted areas.

The logo is a lead in for their new campaign to advertise the environmental benefits of their products.

Personally I thought the logo was too busy as well. I would have liked to leave out the water ripples all together. That was not an option for them. You should see the one they had me make with their company name in it….um, never mind. The leaf in the logo was scaled down, and was fitted to fold and curve in that way so that it would curve around the G in Green and bring the viewers eyes to the center water drop which was created as the focal point.

Thanks again for your comments. I am glad that I had the opportunity to be reviewed on this site.

it is an amazing logo. The line is so beautiful.

Nice logo - just drop the water circle at the bottom which will give it more strength

When I first looked at this I thought: this isn’t really a logo..but after reading your comments I understand. We all have had the same client who wants to incorporate everything into their logo.
I actually think this looks nice, but agree with the group about the water circles..it detracts from the nice little droplet which is where the logo should have stopped.
My only “thing” is I don’t like that trendy handwritten font..it’s already getting on my nerves from seeing it too much.
The thing is: your client loved it, so you did your job well.

Nice work, Sarah. It is very important that you please the client. It’s also important, though, to educate them that a logo will need to be used in print, web, screenprinting, and embroidery (did I miss one?). This will be impossible to embroider, and difficult to screenprint. It also is only good against a white background because of the water effect.

It inspired me to do a podcast on Lisa M’s comment “We all have had the same client who wants to incorporate everything into their logo”. It should be going up soon.

    Ha,

Paul, sweet comments. Love it. I had to make like three or 4 different versions of the logos for the different applications. Lets see. The one for Embroidery has no gradients and the water ripples are cut down to simple lines, making the logo feel even busier, taking focus away from the type. The one for backgrounds besides white, required me to up the opacity on the water, and (gulp) put a nice heavy stroke around the whole thing.

Sometimes all I can do to not go nuts is smile and nod, knowing that in a couple of years it will be a novelty, and I will have to start over.

Thanks again for the comments and the great critiques. I really do enjoy them.

This isn’t a logo. Way to much going on.

The drawing on the leaf and the shading on the words THINK GREEN is really very appealing - good job on that. The rest of it really takes away from the wonderful leaf and green words.
