I don’t have enough information about the kind of clients you’ll be targeting to make any suggestions about whether “Deathology, Inc.” is likely to appeal, so I’ll leave that alone. I think it’s funny, but corporate types can be so bland…
Regarding the logo: love the skull. You might want to increase the line weight around it, so that it will show up better when printed at small sizes. I don’t think the hands (I assume those are thumbs-up?) are necessary at all–the big, toothy grin gets the same sentiment across perfectly by itself.
I’m not a big fan of the font, but I’ll leave it to others more typographically knowledgeable to take that one on.

I like the concept, but I think it could use some improvement. First of all, I like the name and the font goes well with that. What could be more interesting than incorporating the study of death for an animation group? The problems I see are first with the hands (I assume they are hands, though they look more like one eared bunnies as a colleague of mine said). I assume they are supposed to be thumbs up, but it just turns out really weird, and I think unnecessary. The face of the skull already portrays that the guy is happy. So first of all, drop the hands entirely. Second, I like the skull, but the black background circle around it is kind of awkward. Why not just have a black stroke around it? (it has one anyway) Or you could also just make the entire logo on a black background.

The thumbs really throw me off. I couldn’t tell what they were at first; It was almost like he was flipping me off. Is there something important that they communicate about the company that the smiling skull isn’t already taking care of? If there isn’t or it isn’t of critical importance I would drop them all together.
Another thing that I think may help to tie the graphic to the text would be putting the skull into a rectangle instead of a circle, and maybe the rectangle could be as wide as the text.

I think for not being a designer you are off to a good start. I agree with John about the thumbs. I didn’t know what they were until I read his comment. I think you could remove them and still have a good icon.
I don’t like the font choice. It looks too sloppy and doesn’t relate at all to the icon. I think you could find a better font that works with the icon. Try to find something that has a similar look and feel to the icon so it works together and not like two separate items.
Along with trying John’s idea about the rectangle, I would also try removing the circle and just using the skull face with nothing behind it. I would also try placing the icon on the left side of the text.

I completely agree with what Tony said: the skull icon alone - without the “thumbs” - would be a fairly nice logo. The font looks very unprofessional and makes the logo look like it was created for use in a high school graphic design class.
Try a strong font, get rid of the thumbs and the annoying “glow” - and circle - behind the skull, and you’ll have nice looking logo, in my opinion.

I agree completely with persy.
The INC. instinctively bugs me, but I guess I can see how that can be part of the company name. INC as an ironic twist can work sometimes, I guess.
The font, though, has got to go.
The thumbs can go, too. Think about what that’s trying to communicate, and do it simpler. Maybe the graphic is ONLY a better-drawn skeleton thumb. The graphic is also too big. It shouldn’t dominate the text.

considering that this is a film co., the 2 thumbs up makes sense. You just need to finesse it a little bit. Maybe you can join the hands to the skull and create one image.
definitely remove the INC. or at least center it.
agree that the icon is a little too large.
going in a good direction.

I really like your skull icon, but agree with the previous comments that the “thumbs” are distracting. If you were to remove them, you would have a tight image representing your company.

well, i like the thumbs. i see that the skull is giving the “two thumbs up”. i got that straight away. so i guess that’s different strokes. for not being a designer you’ve done a spectacular job. the only thing i do not like is the typeface choice and here’s why :: you have an “abstract” icon, it’s not photo realistic; you also have an abstracted typeface. i think you’d do better to balance the icon with the type by using a more “standard” or non abstracted typeface. still, very cool logo!
